Disaster Transport Delay Legacy Reissue Video Manual | EarthQuaker Devices

Hello EarthQuakers! President and Product Designer Jamie Stillman is back with another video manual, this time for the Disaster Transport Modulated Delay Machine, the newest addition to our Legacy Reissue Series!

The original Disaster Transport was one of the earliest delay offerings from a boutique manufacturer. Introduced in 2007, the Disaster Transport expanded into a series with the launch of an updated Disaster Transport and the Disaster Transport JR in 2010 and the Disaster Transport SR in 2013.

Jamie shares that the KMD Analog Delay was his favorite delay pedal at the time he was designing the original Disaster Transport and how it was used as inspiration when creating this pedal. However, adding modulation was one key feature that was important for him to include in the design to make it a bit more interesting.

For this reissue, Jamie has redesigned the delay line to reduce the noise floor and improve the quality of the delay. He boosted the output with a cleaner mixing section; it’s now filtered to sound more like an analog delay than any of the previous versions. It sits perfectly in the background with an evolved ambiance, but can also be dialed in for the dramatic effect of your choosing.

The analog-voiced digital delay has also been upgraded with a switch to “bend” or “stretch” the modulation waveform and a third rate range has been added to control the speed of the modulation. The Disaster Transport also retains a designated footswitch to turn on and off the modulation.

We hope you enjoy this updated take on the OG EQD delay!
