How to disable resolutions in Media Composer?

To simplify the options for media creation, you can use a text file to restrict the resolutions available for capturing, importing, or rendering.

1. First, go to the Media Creation settings in Media Composer.

2. Identify and list down the resolutions that you want to disable.

3. Create a text file and name it DisabledRes.txt

4. Type the resolutions that you want to disable. The text of the resolution must exactly match the text in the Media Creation dialog box.

5. Save the text file in the following locations:

Windows: C:/Program Files/Avid/Avid Media Composer
Mac: MacHD/Applications/Avid Media Composer

6. Close and relaunch Media Composer.

After relaunch, the resolutions that you disabled will no longer be available in the Media Creation settings. They will also not appear when you attempt to capture, import, or render media.
