A waveshaper distortion plugin remaps the samples of digital audio to new values based on a curve. It can be close-to-linear, with just a slight rolling off of extreme values to create soft saturation, or aggressive, nasty, and downright rude if you get far off the beaten track.
It’s up to you, with a fully editable curve in Shaper, and a powerful morphable wavetable-based approach in Shaper Table.
