This Old Bench Ep. 1 - Dirt Transmitter Silicon Fuzz Driver | EarthQuaker Devices

Hey Pedal lovers!
The folks here at EarthQuaker Devices generally prefer to look determinedly into the future, but we can also appreciate the past and our humble beginnings. Welcome to our new series This Old Bench hosted by EQD builder and beard master Justin Seeker. Kick back as Justin takes us on a nostalgic trip back to the days of yore when EQD pedals were still designed, constructed in a basement in Akron by founder, designer Jamie Stillman.
For the inaugural episode, Justin has a true classic. It’s an early and very rare version (less than 100 made!) of the now-discontinued Dirt Transmitter courtesy of Jeff France, production manager and one of the longest-tenured members of the EQD family. Then, dig the sound as Justin shows us how the bias knob turns this old Dirt Transmitter’s already dirty guitar tone into the guitar version of what “velcro sounds like when you pull it apart.”
An appearance by Jamie includes memories of awesome LED bezels, using water slide decals for Cold War-era graphic design, and spray painting big-ass enclosures in his garage. Then you get to enjoy a nice gut shot of this rare Fuzzy beast. See you in the next episode. It’s fun to reminisce!
