But before we’ll start the recording session we will reflect on the legendary Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers, who has recently passed away. A pioneer of Southern rock and the jam band genre, Dickey Betts redefined the role of dual guitarists in rock bands, leaving an indelible mark on music history.
Join us as we go behind the scenes of Thomas’s live solo recording and gain insights into the creative process. If time permits, Ali and Thomas will delve into the genre of jazz rock fusion, exploring its roots, vocabulary, theory, chords, scales, and of course, the technical setup and processes used today for collaborations.
Ali is best known as the guitarist for Rodgau Monotones, a beloved German rock band with twin guitars and captivating German lyrics. But Ali’s musical journey doesn’t stop there. As a studio guitarist for various projects, including collaborations with Moses P., and forays into jazz rock.
Being a huge fan of Jazz Rock, he actually lived for 2 years in New York studiying with Bill Conors and playing with the NYC cats. Ali brings a wealth of experience to the table. With three solo albums under his belt, Ali’s solo career showcases his mastery of the genre.
