The tom and floor tom pads of the True Touch Training kit are designed to produce a realistic stick response, while emanating a low-volume, acoustic drum sound. Accordingly, the pad surface is made of a dual-layer of foam rubber with offers a moderately soft touch, that’s not overly springy. Additionally, the pliable resin shell acts as an acoustic chamber that helps produce the pitch of each pad.
