EarthQuaker Session Ep. 46 - Ruby The Hatchet "1000 Years" | EarthQuaker Devices

It’s time for another EarthQuaker Devices Sessions, and this is a special one featuring our heavy psychedelic friends from New Jersey, Ruby The Hatchet. Recorded at EQD HQ during the band’s pre-COVID tour, the band ripped through two fresh new songs, including this epic power ballad led by the powerful vocals of singer Jillian Taylor infused with some Avalanche Run and Afterneath. Bassist Lake Muir fattens his already heavy tone with the Pyramids and the Westwood and holds down the groove with drummer and harmony vocalist Owen Stewart.
Organist Sean Hur adds drama with his Avalanche Run-laced flourishes. Armed with his Gibson SG, a Warden, Bit Commander, Swiss Things, and the Afterneath, Johnny Scarps injects melodic lines and big power chords, all building blocks in the song’s epic sound.
The band liked their EQD session so much they are flipping it into the "Live at EarthQuaker" EP, featuring another track from the session "Primitive Man," and their studio recording of Uriah Heep’s galloping classic-rock radio staple, "Easy Livin’." The EP hits the streets on April 22 and is the band’s inaugural release on Magnetic Eye Records.
Enjoy this sonic morsel from the band’s next full length, to be released later in 2022.
You don’t have to wait until April.
You don’t have to wait "1000 years."
You can rock with Ruby The Hatchet right now!
