Orbasynth: Getting Started - Orba by Artiphon

In this video, we’ll show how to connect your Orba to Orbasynth and get started.

Orbasynth is a standalone desktop app for Mac & Windows available for free at https://artiphon.com/downloads.

Full transcription:

It’s super easy to get your Orba connected to Orbasynth so you can start making custom presets.

Once you have downloaded and installed the Orbasynth application, you need to connect your Orba to your computer. I’ve got mine plugged in via USB cable.

If I navigate to settings in the top-left corner, I can check out my audio output, as well as my MIDI devices. If you want, you can use your Orba as your audio output device so that you’re hearing Orbasynth coming through the speakers on your Orba. If you want to do that though, you need to mute the Orba sounds so that you’re only hearing Orbasynth coming through the speakers.

Head over to the Orba app, click on the Artiphon logo, and toggle ‘Orba Sounds’ off. This will stop Orba from playing sounds from its onboard synth engine so you can focus on your Orbasynth sound design.

Then, you can make your preset. Once you’re done, all you need to do is press ‘Save,’ name the preset, and choose which mode it goes with: Chord, Bass, or Lead. Then, your preset will show up in your Orba app preset library, and you can send it to your Orba just like you would any other preset.
