Sarah and Mario Quintero, 2/3 of the New York power based trio Spotlights go into detail about how the EarthQuaker Devices Astral Destiny helps add depth to their already heavy sound. Don’t think a big, heavy and heavy-assed, bassline needs a dash of quavering shimmer underneath? Sara shows us why you should reconsider your position. Mario explains why the Astral Destiny’s namesake Astral setting has allowed him to replace two pedals on his old board and add its unique flavor to some of the band’s older songs that he didn’t realize needed some extra sonic frosting.
“Most reverb pedals will just blend and wash out the notes, where the Astral Destiny still allows the notes to ring through,” Sara Quintero said.
