Fingerpicking arpeggios on acoustic guitar is a staple technique, but what if you need a bit more of a solid rhythmic approach? Playing chords as a block (or “clump”) with the three fingers on your picking hand is the way to do it – and by changing the strings you target you can add some movement and interest to the part.
In this short video lesson, Elixir strings artist Marc Seal introduces you to the technique and shows how it can be applied on different string groupings. It’s a simple but useful concept and useful for everything from jazz to folk and more!
