As most of us know, importing vocal samples in to Melodyne in Ableton Live is laborious. It has to be captured in real time… ugh!
Luckily, there is a secret work around. You can set Melodyne as Live’s default sampler in the preferences. Then, whenever you have a vocal you want to fix, you can just hit the "Edit" button and the vocal will be brought up nearly instantaneously, no matter how long the vocal is. From there, you can make your tuning changes as normal.
Finally, in the Melodyne window, go to File and "Replace Audio". This will bake the changes to the vocal right in your project. AND, the icing on the cake, Melodyne will duplicate the original file for you so you can always go back to it!
