Gibson is proud to introduce the Nathaniel Rateliff LG-2 Western, a fine example of guitar-making alchemy that combines the best attributes of Nathaniel’s two favorite guitars: the 1967 Gibson Country Western and the 1946 Gibson LG-2.
In this video, Nathaniel talks about his love affair with the two guitars that inspired his new signature Gibson LG-2 Western model. Luck played a big part in Nathaniel’s relationship with both the Gibson LG-2 and the Gibson Country Western. One he found online in near-perfect condition, and he purchased with the other with proceeds from a particularly good night of High Card Flush. The Country Western is a stellar strummer, and the LG-2 delivers amazing tone, particularly when fingerpicked. Nathaniel shows us his signature guitar’s tonal dexterity as he plays the title track off his 2020 solo album And It’s Still Alright.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will be releasing The Future studio album under the Stax label on November 5th, 2021. The first single, Survivor, just dropped and is currently streaming on Spotify and other popular streaming services.
