Paul's First Guitar with Bird Inlays | From the Archives | PRS Guitars

From the Archives is a series where we explore unique instruments and items from our company archives. In this episode, Paul Reed Smith and Marc Quigley check out at a very special build – Paul’s first guitar with bird inlays. This guitar was originally made for Peter Frampton, featuring an early PRS headstock design and a soon-to-be-iconic flourish: birds as fret markers inlaid on the fingerboard. Listen as Paul recounts showing Frampton the guitar and how this instrument shaped his early career.

Be sure to stick around for the end of the episode, where PRS Product Specialist Bryan Ewald plays the First Bird Guitar and Paul brings a few items out of his personal safe.
