This Old Bench Ep. 3 - Pulse Machine | EarthQuaker Devices

It’s that time again, pedal lovers. Yes, we’re taking you back in time to revisit some of the early and now hard-to-find stompboxes that provided the foundation for what EQD has become. You know, a pedal company.
For This Old Bench III, our congenial host and longtime EQD builder, Justin, highlights a scarce EQD gem from those early days, the Pulse Machine. Only about 75 of these pulse-inducing beauties were made, hence its absence from the EQD Legacy page. Now, that’s pretty darn rare, folks!
First, Justin, his beard, stylish new flannel, and work apron give us a taste of the clean, pure sound of this unfussy tremolo pedal. Then EQD founder and designer Jamie Stillman fondly recalls his early desire to make an old-school Fender amp-style tremolo and how he studied a popular original DIY circuit design and smothered it in EQD sauce to create the Pulse Machine. So if you see one of these loose out in the gear wilderness, grab it! We’ll have more rare EQD pedals for you in Episode IV.
