Serato is proud to be joining Underground Music Academy to continue to raise funds for the second phase of their mission. They’re in the midst of construction on the north end of Detroit. On the same historic boulevard as Underground Resistance, Moodymann and Motown Records. Help UMA build a global dance music community that’s more aware of its roots.
Electronic music in Detroit changed the lives of Waajeed, Carl Craig, Tall Black Guy, Hotwaxx and ultimately the sound of music worldwide. As Waajeed says, “Electronic music in Detroit means to me that we are the centre of the universe…. Detroit music makes the world go around.”
UMA is a safe space where upcoming musicians from Detroit and around the world will learn the tools to make music and apply them in the real world, while also creating effective change in the community. Serato celebrates Black History Month with UMA! #UMAxSerato #BlackHistoryMonth
