What is actually the difference?
Thomas got awarded „Stratking of Europe“ by Fender in 2004 being the winner of an Europe wide contest hold by Fender as for the 50th anniversary of that iconic guitar.
But actually there’s a long history with Thomas and Strats. His first ever guitar as a 13 year old teenager was a Strat (copy) then he bought a real (bad) Fender Strat from the 80’s. Soon to be replaced by 3 Squier JV Strats. But even at the young age of 17 he knew that he wanted the real deal, and sold all the JVs to buy an original 1961 Strat which he still plays and became his main instrument over his entire career until today.
Thomas gathered quite some wealth of knowledge and experience on Strats and in the different fields from real vintage instruments to modifying Strats and anything you can do to a Strat to improve its tone and playability.
Thomas will compare a bunch of different Strats to a few real ones including his beloved white 1961 and his mint 1964. Also he will have some new PRS Sky and of corse his own signature models by Vintage and the BluGuitar 61 Masterbuilt.
He will have a closer look at different aspects like
Tone, Sustain, Output, Playability, Mojo, the impact of pickups on tone, how electric and wiring affects the tone, and how frets and hardware contribute to the overall sound of the guitar and discuss potential mods for improvements, and when it’s better to step up to a higher class.
Thomas will answer all the questions that you have been dying to know.
From the tone nerd we will learn why some vintage guitars have that legendary tone, and whether it is just the mojo, or what there is more to it?
