On this week’s Academy Of Tone, we’re not live as usual… the reason for this is that Thomas and team are making the final preparations for the all-new BluGuitar video studio! So, while we’re between the old studio and the new one, Thomas will give an update on the move (the new studio should be ready for live episodes in another week or two) and we have two great interviews to share with two BluGuitar endorsing artists: Ciyo Brown and Andrew Matthews!
First up, Ciyo Brown is one of the top jazz players around, and a long-time AMP1 user – having played the original Silver Edition, and now the Mercury Edition – and he’s also a big fan of all the BluGuitar cabs, usually calling on the NANOCAB for his busy life on the road.
In a long and in-depth interview and discussion with Thomas, Ciyo talks about his Jamaican heritage and how his family moved to the UK, and how he managed to become a major fixture in the UK’s music scene and society, as well as his various jazz and reggae projects, and everything in-between! Fresh from a recent performance on the UK’s national Channel 4 broadcaster, Ciyo is also launching a new website and has a new album on the horizon, so there’s lots to discuss!
Secondly, Thomas chats to our recently signed BluGuitar endorser Andrew Matthews, the 17-year-old six-string wunderkind from Portland, Oregon! Andrew is a total breath of fresh air on the international guitar scene, with a strong respect and love for the classic guitar players – he’s a devoted student of fellow BluGuitar family member Jennifer Batten and Jennifer’s Guitar Cloud Symposium, for example – but also a desire to move the guitar firmly into the 21st century.
Thomas and Andrew talk about Andrew’s career thus far, what it’s like to be regarded as a future great at the tender age of 17, and how Andrew is able to make use of social media to further his career, especially during a global pandemic!
As mentioned above, this episode is not live, so the guys won’t be able to take your live questions during the interviews themselves.
