Academy Of Tone #66: the legendary guitar tones of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour PLUS secrets of a top guitar luthier!
On this week’s Academy Of Tone, Thomas is joined by special guest Oliver Hartmann to dive deep into the iconic and revered guitar style and tones of Mr David Gilmour.
We’ve had many requests to cover Gilmour’s Pink Floyd tones on Academy of Tone, and Oliver is something of an expert here – he’s been playing internationally with the Pink Floyd tribute ECHOES since 2002.
The guys will discuss and dissect Gilmour’s trademark sounds and style, and talk about the best ways you can get closer to achieving those tones. Of course, there are many ways to go about this, and you don’t necessarily have to own the same gear Gilmour has used either. Thomas and Oliver will show you how to get close with AMP1, BluBOX, and a number of other affordable solutions you can still readily purchase in music stores today.
