Today’s guest is Tosh Peterson aka @tosh_thedrummer. I’ve been following his playing for quite some time now and, while his professional career is relatively new, he’s accomplished a TON and seen more of the world than most players do in their entire lifetime. His showmanship is what grabbed my attention right away, but his finesse coupled with a deceptively controlled bombast is the reason he’s played and IS playing with some of the top players in the game right now including Machine Gun Kelly, Jaden Hossler, Nik Best, Carlie Hanson and many, many more. The ZILDJIAN WORKOUT project was created to give YOU the opportunity to "learn-while-you-drum" along with the top Zildjian artists. Covering three levels of technical demand, each video will cover several exercises that will not only help you improve your fundamental skills, but also expose you to the drumming philosophies of some of today’s master instructors!

In the second episode of a three part series for improving your jazz independence, John Riley takes the difficulty up a notch with applications that utilize the 1, 2 & 3 note rhythm patterns along with various "fill-in" applications. If this exercise is a little much for you, go back to John’s Level ONE workout and master the basics first!

In the final Level Three workout, John will introduce a higher level of complexity to this fundamental independence exercise!

This week’s guest is Ian Chang. I love love love Ian’s playing. I first saw him live back in 2017 in Los Angeles following NAMM where he was performing and promoting his first solo effort, Spiritual Leader, utilizing his Sensory Percussion gear (which we do get into during this episode). In addition to being a MONSTER solo act, Ian mans the skins for Son Lux and Landlady (both have released new music recently btw) among many other projects. His timing within a groove is extremely fluid, but he never loses the essential pocket that makes it all work…and oh boy does it work!
