The award-winning pianist handpicked some of his favorite musicians for this exclusive NORD LIVE session at Altar Audio in Bogota, Colombia. In a total of 10 episodes, Molina delivers phenomenal live performances in both duo, trio, quartet and quintet settings using the Stage 3, Grand, Electro 6 and Wave 2. The Colombian piano virtuoso performs original music accompanied by Juan Felipe Cardenas on saxophone, Sergio de Miguel on keys, Rock Choi on guitar, Samuel Huertas/Samuel Baños on bass and Juan Pablo Faundez/Nicko Guerrero on drums.

The session was recorded live at Altar Audio, Bogota, Colombia, January 2021 and the remaining episodes will be published monthly throughout the year. Stay tuned!

Eloi Fuguet, professional recorder player and teacher, explains the differences between Baroque fingering and German fingering on this instrument. In this very interesting video Eloi reveals how the musician Arnold Dolmetsch creates the first recorder of the twentieth century… by accident! Or how fellow musician Peter Harlan evolves his design. He also shows us the exact differences of each fingering and how the C scale is played on each one.

For this video, Eloi is using the Hohner Alegra Line flutes: a B95860 in ivory colour with baroque fingering, and a B95862 in blue colour with German fingering.

This is the first of a video series in which Eloi will bring us closer to the world of the recorder by explaining curiosities and practical aspects of this popular instrument.

Lazos musicales que unen a Colombia y México, es el slogan del evento, pues la conexión musical que existe entre estos dos países 🇨🇴 🇲🇽 se remonta a décadas, y ha sido tan fuerte que géneros musicales como la cumbia y vallenato se han adaptado a la cultura mexicana en ciudades como Monterrey, tomándola como música propia de ellos.

Por otra parte, la cultura mexicana está presente en la sociedad colombiana, siendo Colombia uno de los países del mundo donde más se escucha música mexicana.

Trataremos los siguientes temas:
• El acordeón en la cumbia y el vallenato (cómo fue su incursión, qué significa el acordeón en estos géneros)
• Cómo ha logrado el acordeón representar a toda una cultura que se ha extendido hasta México.
• Cómo se inculca a las nuevas generaciones la música del acordeón.
